CHAMP Cargosystems names new CEO

Airfreight software firm CHAMP Cargosystems has named Chris McDermott as its new chief executive, effective from October 1.

McDermott will join the company from SITA where he is currently vice president of passenger solutions.

He succeeds Arnaud Lambert, the current chief executive of CHAMP Cargosystems, who will leave the company at the end of this month after having served there for 16 years.

CHAMP Cargosystems, which has 500 employees and revenues of approximately $55m, is a joint venture between SITA (51%) and Cargolux (49%).

Barbara Dalibard, chief executive of SITA and chairman of the board at CHAMP, commented: “We are very happy to have a strong leader like McDermott join as he brings a diverse industry background with a specialization in passenger airlines, telecommunications and managing global operations.”

“On behalf of the board of CHAMP, I would also like to congratulate and share my gratitude for Arnaud Lambert, chief executive of CHAMP Cargosystems, for his 16 years of passionate and dedicated service to CHAMP, with the last six as chief executive.”
