Level to add South America pax-freighter services

IAG Cargo and sister airline Level will restart a regular services from Barcelona to Buenos Aires and Santiago de Chile as a pax-freighter operation.

The services to Argentina and Chile were cut as a result of the pandemic, but will now resume using widebody A330 aircraft to carry cargo only.

The Barcelona to Buenos Aires service will start with a Christmas flights programme and and from January 12 will launch a three-weekly frequency; Barcelona to Santiago de Chile will commence on December 22, twice a week.

The services will look to cater for medical supplies, electronics and automotive parts, in addition to high demand perishables such as Chilean cherries and salmon, and Argentinian beef and fresh fruit.

John Cheetham, chief commercial officer at IAG Cargo, said: We are delighted to offer our customers these regular services once again. Our flights between these regions serve important trade routes and with IAG Cargo’s wider connections these services will provide further opportunities for our customers at both ends.”
