Dnata obtains IATA CEIV Fresh certification at Changi Airport

Ground handler dnata has obtained IATA’s CEIV Fresh certification at Singapore Changi Airport.

The certification confirms dnata’s capability of handling perishables – many of which are temperature-sensitive, including fresh fruits, meat, fish, dairy and flowers – to IATA’s globally recognised standard.

Sam Gould, dnata Singapore’s head of cargo, said: “There is an increasing demand for safe air transportation of temperature-sensitive goods. We constantly invest in infrastructure, training and process improvement to ensure that these delicate products reach the end-customer in perfect condition. IATA’s CEIV Fresh certification demonstrates the quality and reliability of our services, and supports Changi Airport’s positioning as the preferred cargo hub for time-, and temperature-sensitive shipments.”

Dnata said that to maintain its cold chain at Singapore Changi Airport, it uses a web-based monitoring system, two temperature-controlled cool dollies capable of storage between -25°C and 25°C, and a 1,400 sq m pharma and perishables handling centre that is capable of processing 75,000 tonnes of temperature-sensitive goods each year.

Dnata has also achieved IATA CEIV Pharma certification, ISO 9001:2015 certification for cargo handling services and been awarded Halal certification by Majlis Ugama Islam Singapura (Muis) for a special storage room in its cool chain facility.

The ground handler works with around 300 airlines and offers ground handling, cargo and catering services at 126 airports in 19 countries.
