Gerry’s dnata receives GDP certification in Pakistan

Ground handler Gerry’s dnata has received Good Distribution Practice (GDP) certification for its pharma operations in Karachi, Pakistan.

The company said its trained members of staff handle temperature-sensitive cargo, including vaccines, at its 72,000 sq ft facility at Jinnah International Airport (KHI).

Features of the facility — established in 2019 — include an automated storage and retrieval system, a material handling system, as well as automated and semi-automated handling equipment.

Syed Haris Raza, vice president of Gerry’s dnata, commented: “We are proud to become the first handler in Pakistan to achieve the prestigious GDP certification at a time when demand for the rapid and safe transportation of vaccines and pharmaceutical products is on the rise.

“This accreditation demonstrates our ability to move these products under the strictest international standards, providing world-class safety and quality to our customers and their customers.

“We continue to invest in infrastructure and equipment to consistently deliver service excellence across our operations, every day.”
