AirBridgeCargo Airlines (ABC) has reported a 274% increase in digital bookings in 2021 compared to 2020 following investments in its digital offering.

The freighter airline has been developing e-bookings through its own website and e-freight system, while also placing its capacity on online booking platforms.

The carrier was one of the first carriers to place its capacity on a platform when it joined cargo.one in 2019.  Since then, it joined then WebCargo in June 2020 and CargoAi towards the end of 2021.

Initially, the company offered capacity to clients in Europe through the platforms but in the second quarter of last year it added booking capabilities for customers in Asia Pacific, including China, Japan and South Korea.

Alexey Zotov, commercial director of AirBridgeCargo Airlines, said: “With customers becoming more digitally minded, we aim to adapt the same digital experience they have become accustomed to as consumers and transfer it in the business-to-business environment.

“We have been in close dialogue with our key accounts to see how we could increase online bookings and integrate our capabilities into their internal Transport Management Systems. This will enable more seamless customer experience and open new opportunities for further cooperation, including in the area of integrates logistics solutions which we are set to expand.”

Looking ahead, AirBridgeCargo and the wider Volga-Dnepr Group will updated their internal cargo management system to enhance booking and confirmation, customer relations management, invoicing and revenue management.
