Envirotainer launches its largest Releye container

Envirotainer has launched the RAP version of its Releye temperature-controlled container, with Swiss WorldCargo one of the first airlines to approve its usage.

The RAP version of the Releye container is the largest model of the container and can hold five pallets, compared with the existing 2021 model’s three pallets.

The company pointed out that the larger capacity means the container is more efficient than smaller temperature-controlled containers and offers a lower carbon footprint.

The new container is monitored through a control tower service as standard.

The unit uses rechargeable batteries, with a single battery charge able to power the system for over 170 hours.

It also offers live monitoring for product condition, location, temperature, humidity, battery levels, door openings, if cargo is loaded or not, and the progress of shipments.

Swiss WorldCargo is one of the first carriers to approve the Releye RAP container for its operations and has added it to its portfolio.

“We really appreciate our close partnership with Envirotainer and are proud to be at the forefront to soon operate the new Envirotainer Releye RAP and welcoming it into our temperature sensitive pharmaceuticals solutions portfolio,” said Lorenzo Stoll, head of cargo at Swiss International Air Lines.

“The Releye RAP sets a new benchmark for temperature-controlled five-pallet solutions, it combines newest technology and reaches outstanding CO2 reductions per shipment. This fully aligns with our own focus on sustainable offering and continued reduction of the carbon footprint.”

Fredrik Linnér, chief business development officer at Envirotainer, added: “The Covid-19 pandemic is ongoing. Air cargo capacity is constrained and there’s a huge demand for intercontinental shipments. In this context, organisations that qualify the Releye RAP will secure access to the most cost-efficient and sustainable solution for temperature-controlled airfreight.”
