Hong Kong Air Cargo launches scheduled services to Tokyo

Hong Kong Air Cargo has launched a new scheduled freighter service between Hong Kong and Tokyo, Japan.

Commencing Saturday July 9, Hong Kong Air Cargo launched a new weekly scheduled service to Narita, Japan. Previously a chartered service, the new scheduled service is in line with Hong Kong Air Cargo’s policy to expand its scheduled services.

In May 2021, Hong Kong Air Cargo received approval from the Air Transport Licensing Authority (ATLA) to operate scheduled cargo flights to Chennai, Tokyo, Manila, Jakarta, Delhi, Sydney, Melbourne, Liege and Milan.

The airline will continue to review its resources and the market situation with the aim to convert charter services into scheduled flight services.

William Chan, director of government and public affairs, said: “Hong Kong Air Cargo strives to improve its service to best serve the people of Hong Kong, it is important to us to help sustain and maintain Hong Kong’s position as a leading cargo aviation hub, especially during the pandemic.

“As the global market gradually recovers from the pandemic, we shall continue to review the market situation to introduce more scheduled destinations to our network.”
