Cargolux and DB Schenker, a decade of US pharma

Cargolux has celebrated a decade of healthcare shipment flights to Indianapolis in cooperation with German logistics operator DB Schenker.
Cargolux and DB Schenker started the first Indianapolis service in 2005 with a weekly flight and added a second weekly flight the year after.
Ten years on, the Luxembourg-based all-cargo carrier has now operated its first full charter B747F flight of pharmaceuticals to the US on the route.
The first full freighter load, with 36 pallets of pharmaceuticals, required a constant ambient temperature of 20°c throughout the aircraft, made possible by the four independently adjustable air conditioning zones in Cargolux’s B747 freighters.
Additionally, each pallet was protected by Tyvek covers, especially designed to maintain the temperature of temperature-sensitive cargo.
Cargolux now serves 15 destinations with healthcare flights for DB Schenker.
