Cathay announces new director of cargo

Update: Cathay Pacific has appointed Simon Large as director of cargo, responsible for all aspects of the group’s cargo business worldwide, including operations, marketing and sales.
Large is currently the airline’s general manager marketing, loyalty programmes & customer relationship management.
He joined parent company, Swire group, in 1991 and has worked in a variety of management positions within Cathay Pacific, as well as postings at Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals.
Large takes over in the cargo role from James Woodrow, who will become managing director at sister company The China Navigation Company, a shipping company.
While Woodrow’s departure to a shipping company may seem like a career change, the Swire group has interests in a diverse portfolio of companies, including property, industrial and agriculture, and it is not unknown for managers to switch between industries.
For example, Large spent some time working at tea grower and importer Finlays, in which Swire has a minority interest.
