EVA commits to five B777 freighters

EVA Airways has a commitment to purchase five B777 freighters, the first of this type to enter the Taiwanese carrier’s cargo fleet, in a list price deal valued at more than $1.5bn.
According to its website, EVA currently has a fleet of eight B747-400F and six MD-11Fs.
"EVA Airways has been a loyal B777 customer for many years and we are honoured that they have selected the B777 freighter to join their fleet," said Boeing Commercial Airplanes president and chief executive Ray Conner.
"This agreement demonstrates the unrivalled efficiency and value of the 777 freighter and we look forward to finalising this order to further extend our strong partnership."
