Athens awaits outcome

The Greek airfreight industry, along with the rest of the country, is waiting the outcome of a vote by MPs to approve a bailout package and avert a financial meltdown, along with possible exit from the Euro. “The situation here in Greece is very problematic – this also goes for the air transport industry,” Athens International Airport manager of cargo development, Alexios Sioris, told ACN. He said that inbound and outbound traffic is currently down by more than 50%, just two weeks after capital controls were introduced.
