Virgin Atlantic Cargo posts record growth from Chicago

Virgin Atlantic Cargo posted a record month for tonnage from Chicago in June while it achieved a 100% load factor in the opposite direction.
The airline said that shipments from Chicago increased by more than 30% in June to 860 tonnes, with 53% of traffic destined to the UK and 29% heading to India via a London connection.
The airline said that shipments from the Midwest hub ranged from general cargo to printed matter, works of art and Corvette racing cars heading to the Le Mans 24 hour race in France.
Virgin also recorded a strong performance from London to Chicago, with traffic up 16% in the first six months and a load factor of 100%.
Cargo in the westerly direction included perishable shipments such as fresh fish, flowers and vegetables in addition to artworks and apparel.
