Finnair Cargo expects no major disruption from nationwide strike

Nationwide industrial action in Finland on Friday is not expected to have a major impact on Finnair’s cargo operations despite the airline having to cancel flights.
The Finnish airline today issued a statement saying that a total of 16 flights would be cancelled on Friday due to industrial action by Finnish labour unions.
A company spokesperson told Air Cargo News that all of the cancelled flights would be domestic and therefore would not have a major impact on cargo services.
However, it would result in an embargo on valuables and live animal transport being put in place on Friday.
Finnair has over 350 flights planned for Friday and it warned that additional cancellations are also a possibility.
Finnair is not the airline to suffer because of strike action of late; Lufthansa pilots launched industrial action for two days last week, although the airline has now gained a injunction to stop further protest.
