Frankfurt’s PCF celebrates CEIV Pharma certification

Perishable Center Frankfurt (PCF) has become the first neutral logistics services provider to be awarded the International Air Transport Association’s Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Pharmaceutical Logistics (CEIV Pharma) at Frankfurt Airport.
The award, dated the end of last month (May), remains valid until 31 May 2019.
PCF, said to be Europe’s largest temperature-controlled airfreight facility, handles perishables such as fish, meat, fruit, vegetables and flowers, as well as pharmaceuticals.
It handles temperature-sensitive cargo 365 days a year and about 120,000 tons of perishables and pharma airfreight each year.
The facility can maintain shipments at between -25 and +25°C.
“Health is man’s most valuable possession,” observed PCF managing director Rainer Wittenfeld.
“We are aware of this responsibility and have successfully met the highest standard in the handling of frequently vital medication.
“This certificate once again underlines our qualifications and expertise and we are pleased to continue being of service as a reliable partner in the logistics chain.”
CEIV Pharma represents an international industry standard for pharma shipping, covering such factors infrastructure improvements, employee training and quality control.
