New Chinese cargo airline opts for B737s from Pemco

New Chinese airline Guangdong Longhao Aviation Group (GLHA) has signed up for the conversion of three Boeing 737-300 aircraft from Pemco.
Pemco said the conversion will be carried out by Jinan Shandong-based STAECO, one of PEMCO’s three conversion partners throughout the world.
The aircraft, which is the first conversion Pemco has secured with Guangdong Longhao, will be inducted in July and is scheduled for re-delivery in October.
“We’re excited to partner with the Longhao Aviation Group and their team,” said Pemco director of conversion programmes Mike Andrews. “We look forward to providing new freighters and contributing to the company’s continued growth.”
The B737-300 PEMCO-converted aircraft features nine pallet positions, up to 43,100 pounds of payload, 4,600 cubic feet of total volume, and a max range exceeding 2,000 miles.
Guangdong Longhao airlines gained formal approval of operations from the Civil Aviation Administration of China in May.
It is a subsidiary of the Longhao Group, which is primarily focused on the investment and construction of highways, infrastructure and public works; diversified business in technical consulting; aviation business; smarty city, new energy and environmental engineering; and media and culture.
The airline has a registered capital of Y400m, will be based at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and will cater for mail and cargo.
Since 2006, PEMCO has redelivered over 50 Boeing 737-300 and -400 freighter modification projects to Chinese operators.
