Logistics firm Carousel launches UK-Germany airfreight operation

Logistics firm Carousel has launched a new daily airfreight linehaul service between the UK and Germany on behalf of customer John Deere.
The service is operated by a turboprop two tonne capacity Metro III aircraft and flies between London Southend in the UK and Baden Baden airport in Germany.
The service was launched after the agricultural machinery manufacturer renewed its parts logistics contract with Carousel for three years.
The airfreight service is part of Carousel’s By:NIGHT offering, which provides John Deere with later collection times and more control over the supply chain.
Carousel chief executive Graham Martin said: “Our new freight-only aircraft offers enormous flexibility for our By:NIGHT service and is demonstrative of our pursuit for continuous improvement and innovation to support our clients and their customers.
“Centrally located in Baden-Baden, Germany, it is a strategically-placed route linking mainland Europe and the UK.”
