DSV sets up US Solutions division

Danish-owned freight forwarder DSV has set up a Solutions division in North America, following its acquisition of US-based UTi.
DSV said it had gained substantial contract logistics work as a result of the merger and that these had been merged with the limited amount of similar activity it was already handling in the region.
All former UTi sites and activities in North America have been rebranded DSV and the new Solutions president will be Michael Marlow.
He commented: “The bringing together of two industry leaders will translate to a world of opportunity that will enhance service offerings, coverage, synergies and economies of scale.”
DSV Solutions is present in 19 US states, the Canadian province of Ontario and eight Mexican states with a total of over 60 logistics facilities covering 16m sq ft and operated by 3,500 staff.
As well as storage and transport management, services available include pick and pack, kitting, rework and labelling, and vendor-managed inventory.
