Etihad meets Italy’s movers and shakers

Etihad Global Cargo Management Company (GCMC) joined forces with Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce to host a networking event for business leaders in Parma, Italy.
The companies from the Italian city, who collectively represented 3.7% of the entire Italian GDP, were joined 75 representatives from Emirati businesses.
The event followed the recent signing by Etihad GCMC and Parma Airport of an agreement to develop cargo volumes at the airport, including daily road feeder services to Milan’s Malpensa Airport, 180km away.
Parma is the centre of one of the largest exporting regions in Italy for high value commodities – such as chemicals and pharma products and foodstuffs – which require swift, secure transport.
Etihad Cargo’s senior vice president, David Kerr, said: “We are looking forward to creating new business opportunities by connecting local producers with global customers.”
Unione Industriali chairman, Alberto Figna, added: “With the co-operation of Etihad GCMC, the strategic development plan for Parma Airport is already coming to life.”
