Atlas continues talks with union as pilot survey reveals concerns

Atlas Air is continuing talks with unions over a new collective bargaining agreement for pilots as a survey of pilots has revealed that many are concerned about recruitment of colleagues and how the new contract may look.
The survey carried out by Airline Professionals Association, Teamsters Local 1224, showed that 69% of 893 pilots at Atlas completely disagreed that the airline had enough pilots to meet the long-term needs of customers DHL and Amazon.
In another question, 63% of 875 Atlas pilots surveyed and 68% of 95 Southern pilots that answered said it was very likely they would pursue a career at another airline if new pay, benefits and working conditions did not meet expectation.
In response to the survey Atlas Air said: “Atlas Air respects an individual’s right to express his or her opinion. We will continue our dialogue with the union under the terms and conditions of our contract to reach a new joint collective bargaining agreement, including the merger with Southern Air.”
