Yusen Logistics opens Frankfurt pharma gateway

Yusen Logistics has opened a dedicated Good Distribution Practice (GDP) compliant pharmaceutical gateway in Frankfurt as it targets growth in the sector.
The logistics firm said that the new operation had been developed in close consultation with Yusen Logistics’ pharmaceutical customers, which are "increasingly looking for new ways to optimise flows within the constraints of GDP".
The operation links Yusen Logistics’ German import/export consolidation centre and European road network, to form a multimodal hub.
"Frankfurt’s global network, frequency of service, choice of carrier, streamlined handling processes and supportive Customs are all part of its high quality pharmaceutical offering," the company said.
Yusen Logistics’ European pharmaceutical operation is contracted to carry more than 2m pallets this year, providing shared and single use solutions.
