Heathrow appoints Eva Gil-Llacer to the airport’s cargo team

London Heathrow Airport has appointed Eva Gil-Llacer to the Heathrow Cargo team in the role of cargo improvement manager. 
Gil-Llacer will take responsibility for Heathrow’s cargo improvement projects and engage with the air cargo community "to drive improvements in speed, predictability and collaboration," said airport management in a statement.  
She joins the Heathrow cargo team from the airside operations team where she gained a solid reputation and demonstrated her great ability to significantly improve the airside space and processes.  
Gil-Llacer will report to the head of cargo, Nick Platts, who said: “I worked with Eva in Airside Operations and saw her deliver some amazing outcomes in challenging circumstances.
"Eva is a superb addition to the cargo team and joins at a very exciting time as we start to deliver on our vision of being one of the best airports in Europe for cargo by becoming a trusted partner – timely, predictable & easy to do business with.”
A 44% surge in American Airlines volumes in July  contributed to a 15.1% rise in cargo at Heathrow in July 2017 – the fastest rate ever recorded. The gateway also reported that overall cargo traffic with North America was up 16% while Asian traffic was up 14% on the back of strong growth to China, Hong Kong and Singapore.
The user group for the CCS-UK airfreight community system is also working on a new module to speed up deliveries and collections at London Heathrow Airport transit sheds.
CCS-UK Advanced Info will enable freight agents, and transport companies working on their behalf, to alert handling agents of deliveries, down to House AWB level, as well as submit Electronic Consignment Security Declarations (eCSDs).
