DEMAND for pharmaceuticals has prompted EuroAirport to invest €40 million (US$52.4 million) to build a new 18,000m2 cargo terminal at Basel-Mulhouse Airport in France.
Construction of the terminal, which will replace an existing 15,000m2 facility, is scheduled to start this summer and will be completed by the end of next year.
“At the moment, express operators based here, such as TNT, UPS, DHL and FedEx, are housed in different facilities about the airport and the plan is to locate them under one roof,” a EuroAirport spokesperson says.
Other freighter operators at the airport include Korean Air Cargo,
MASkargo and Swiss WorldCargo.
