Emirates starts Atlanta B777 service

EMIRATES SkyCargo is starting weekly B777 freighter services to service from Dubai to Atlanta, Georgia in April.
“This decision to operate a direct route from Dubai to Atlanta further elevates Atlanta as a globally competitive city and also grows our cargo capacity significantly,” says mayor Kasim Reed.
Emirates is now the 11th cargo carrier operating to Atlanta points out Hartsfield-Jackson interim general manager Miguel Southwell. “By forging new partnerships – such as today’s announcement with Emirates – we are moving forward in becoming one of the world’s premier logistical hubs,” he says.
Hartsfield-Jackson ranks 10th in volume of cargo transported among North American airports. Georgia’s exports to the Middle East increased by 66.4 per cent to US$2.24 billion last year from nearly $1.4 billion in 2010.
