Air New Zealand picks up new Dreamliner

AIR NEW ZEALAND has taken delivery of its new B787-9 Dreamliner at the Boeing factory in Seattle.
The aircraft’s inaugural flight to the launch customer’s Auckland base is scheduled for later today.
As part of the carrier’s plan to replace its current B767 fleet with B787-9s, it has 10 on order plus eight options.
The -9s will operate on the Auckland-Perth route from October and on services to Shanghai and Tokyo later this year, says a company statement.
“The B787-9 is a real game-changer and we can’t wait for our customers to experience it," says Christopher Luxon, chief executive of Air New Zealand.
